Does God know why he exists?

How's that for a random thought?

Just for fun, pretend to be God for a minute. You've always existed and you have the power to create anything. You know everything past, present and future. You create a universe wherein lies a small planet with some little people running around on it. Sometimes the people stop and think... "why am I here?" You smile and decide to be mysterious and let them continue to wonder. But then you start to think... "Why Am I Here?"

  1. Hi Dave:
My friend email me your site, she and her partner have been talking to me a lot, since I'm a christian, but don't believe in a lot of stuff. I have been terriable hurt by churches and christians, my friends, want me to find like minded people to talk to since, everyone around just think I should execpt what they say as gossip. I ask questions, and want to debate things, but they put me down and tell me to basically stay in my place, since I'm a woman. I hope to be leaving this city soon, I need to get out of the bible belt. I still believe in Jesus, but not the Jesus they represent. If you know a website that would be good for me, so I can talk to people, who are like minded, that would be very helpful. I have always wanted to know why am I here?

  2. Cool thought...I just had it a while back--so I searched it. Interesting when asked who he was he told Moses -I Am- which is a great description. But people who are caused ask questions. People who begin to exist ask why they exist. When you, yourself are the cause of all reality, I guess the question is moot. It seems to be a category mistake as God is eternal--something we simply cant comprehend.

But we know the Universe and our existence must be grounded upon the uncaused. We know it must be intelligent because the universe isnt a clump of lifeless mud but shows design to 120 places right of the decimal point. The only people who dont see design are the dysfunctional--as studies have now linked autism and aspergers to physicists(who I think we all agree are social misfits)--many whose brains are incapable of seeing purpose. The wicked, who wont follow God. And the indifferent-- who dont care one way or other.

BTW, My son is autistic and loves Christ so its not that autism causes atheism--but that higher math function comes with a price of not being able to see the forest through the trees. Love can overcome this --but Im just trying to allow you to see the source of atheism among those in the fields of Origins. They went there to prove their atheism and failed miserably--yet still wont give an inch because of their mental deficiencies

Sorry to hear you thought you were a christian before but you were not. Christ doesnt let people go. You were a cultural christian. Christ said if anyone wants to know if I am who I say I am let him do my will. You know you didnt do that. You did not turn..you did not surrender. Its all on you.

Because when you do that Christ is put as a fact into your mind. Its only in faith that we approach God--but we KNOW once we do that--otherwise we would praying to someone we think might be there and thats just nonsense if it goes on.
God puts the fact directly into your thoughts and it cannot be unbelieved--the fact that you are fighting against God now proves you were never His.

This tripe about other religions is also the 3rd grade reasoning atheists use. There are are only 2 religions-Christianity and Islam. All others are philosophies--they are just a set of ideas--no claims of revealed knowledge. Judaism was destroyed with their temple when they rejected the culmination of their beliefs.

No one has claimed to be God--EVER--in the history of mankind and was believed. Islam claims to correct the Bible, leaving Christianity as the only religion which makes claims of revelation.
Of course, when you directly fight against the truth--you have made yourself God's enemy--so I dont know if there is any hope for you. There is a point where people are left to their own destruction. But if not, I would suggest tearing down this monstrosity of self serving dribble and get on your knees and turn-- for the first time to Jesus Christ--the Real Christ..not some imaginary cultural genie.

    1. John,
I feel sorry for you. You have to stereotype everyone in order to fit them into your narrow worldview. You don't even know me and yet you say I never surrendered to Christ. You're wrong. I did surrender. I can't prove it to you, but it's true. I could just as easily say that you are not a real Christian. In fact, there are probably many Christians who would read your comment and say that the love of Christ is not in you.

I am not fighting against the truth, I am searching for it. Have you ever considered the possibility that Christianity is a man-made religion? Have you ever examined your own biases and their origins? Are all the books you read written by Christian authors? Ask yourself if this is an honest approach to truth.
